I was considering submitting this exact BUR a while ago, but then I realized that it goes against our current standard. Every other body part that comes in pairs (eyes, ear tips, hands, feet, paws, nipples) uses plural color tags, even though it can create inaccuracies (e.g. "green eyes" for a character with heterochromia). So if anything it should be the opposite.

I feel like "inner ears" itself doesn't really make sense. Like how we say inner_ear_fluff, not inner_ears_fluff. Ears themselves may come in pairs, but each ear only has one inner ear, so I feel like singular still makes more sense in that situation.

I think that's just because you never put a plural inside a compound word. Like how we say "toothbrush" and not "teethbrush."
