The tag implication #64818 sex_toy_insertion -> object_penetration is pending approval.

Reason: These tags are all a huge mess.

On the wiki page for object_insertion, it states that object_penetration covers any object being inserted into any part of a character. Yet sex_toy_insertion, object_insertion, etc do not implicate the object_penetration tag. Additionally:

• object_in_ass does not implicate object_penetration OR object_insertion either.
• object_in_pussy does not seem to exist for some reason, but vaginal_object_insertion does. That tag also does not implicate object_insertion or object_penetration.
• object_in_ass is clearly the widely used tag, with 38k posts. Then there's object_in_anus with 1 post and anal_object_insertion with 156 posts. The latter two need to be aliased to object_in_ass.
• It appears someone tried to create {thing}_object_insertion tags recently, because this example can be seen again with object_in_mouth (which also does not implicate object_insertion or object_penetration) having been tagged over 10k times while oral_object_insertion has been used only 6 times. The latter should be aliased to the former (or vice versa) and the former should implicate object_insertion and/or object_penetration.
• I'm not sure why there's no object_in_pussy tag.
• sex_toy_insertion should implicate object_insertion.
• sex_toy_insertion has been used 43k times, yet we also have a popular sex_toy_penetration tag that has been used 4k times. The latter is implicated by the tag pegging, but the former is not. Why do we have both?
• pegging implicates sex_toy_insertion and object_in_ass, but none of those three tags implicate object_penetration or object_insertion.
• Should object_penetration and object_insertion even be different tags in the first place?
• dildo_insertion, which implicates sex_toy_insertion, is not implicated by dildo_in_cloaca
• dildo_in_cloaca does implicate sex_toy_in_cloaca which then implicates sex_toy_insertion, but dildo_insertion should still be implicated in this instance.
• dildo_fellatio and dildo_in_mouth do not implicate dildo_insertion
• dildo_fellatio does not implicate sexy_toy_insertion
• dildo_penetration does not implicate sex_toy_insertion
• dildo_penetration has been used 485 times, yet dildo_insertion has been used 21k times. Why do both exist? The former should be aliased to the latter or the latter to the former.
• etc...

This was brought to my attention when I was trying to locate images that I figured would be tagged with object_insertion because there was some type object in the character's ass and I couldn't recall what it was. When I saw the relatively tiny post count associated with the tag, I tried object_penetration and observed the same overall outcome. Both tags are used in around 1k posts, yet many posts are tagged with one tag but not the other. Upon seeing the large 31k post count for object_in_ass alone, I did some investigating and came up with what you see above. These tags need to be cleaned up and structured better.

What's the difference between object_penetration and object_insertion? object_penetration sounds ambiguous, as referring to either the object being penetrated or the object doing the penetrating (the penetration tags are an inconsistent mess; anal_penetration, oral_penetration, and vaginal_penetration refer to the thing being penetrated, while penile_penetration and tail_penetration refer to the thing doing the penetration). object_insertion seems less ambiguous.

I also wonder if there's a need for object_insertion separate from sex_toy_insertion. A non-sex-toy object being inserted into a character would be considered an improvised_sex_toy or improvised_dildo, so sex_toy_insertion wouldn't be completely out of place.

Precisely. I think object_penetration should refer to the object being penetrated, but you can see it's used for a mix of that and an object penetrating a character. On the contrary, dildo_penetration and dildo_insertion are actually just the same tag without an alias.

This is not always the case, e.g. a rectal thermometer, speculum, douche, eggs, etc.
