Topic: do we need a furred marine tag?

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #9618 is pending approval.

create alias furred_marine (353) -> furred_marine_(disambiguation) (0)
change category furred_marine_(disambiguation) (0) -> invalid

Reason: quite a few marine animals are mammals that have fur naturally, like seals and sea otters. so the tag has less usefulness because of it. there are also tags that refer to fur on marine animals who don't have fur while not haphazardly including the ones that have it by default.

I don’t think this needs a disambiguation. I’d rather alias it to marine or fur

that could work too. though for cleanup purposes it may be better to disambiguate

No cleanup needed if you alias it to fur.

Can I still see which posts were tagged with the aliased tag after its been aliased away? I wanted to tag the posts in furred_marine with proper furred_ tags.

Only four images aren't of furred_sharks so this tag could probably safely be updated to furred_shark before it gets aliased.

Edit: Removed the tags from them. They all already had tags like fur or furred_fish where applicable.
