So I got a post removed for "quality standards" or something and I'm just wondering, is there a way to try and appeal the deletion or combat it? Because honestly I feel like the deletion was undeserved.

See topic #23578.
Either contact the janitor who deleted it, i.e., @abadbird, or approach the head admin, i.e., @NotMeNotYou, if you want to escalate the issue.
But there are standards the images need to be in order for them to stay

I don't know what it is you posted but if it doesn't meet the requirements it'll be deleted
Seeing as it's an artistic deletion it probably needs to be a cleanly drawn or colored post
Sketches traditional_media are more commonly allowed if users can tell what is being depicted
Colors need to be more solid and sharp
Don't take it personally. Took me years to get my own art to the point where I could be reasonably confident it wouldn't be deleted.

Ah, okay. Well I guess if it isn't against the rules or anything i could clean up stray pixels because i *did* use the paint brush tool which leaves the little discolored pixels, then repost the image at a higher quality standard.

Unless you can tremendously improve your artistic skills to the point that the original artwork looks completely different, I wouldn't recommend it.
It is against the rules to knowingly upload previously deleted content.
Deletion due to "artistic quality" can mean a whole lot of things, from the way you draw/colour it to anatomical discrepancies in the characters drawn.
You can only find out exactly what is wrong with your artwork by asking the staff who deleted it in the first place.
Simply redrawing it with cleaner lines or colouring in the discolorations doesn't mean the piece would immediately ascend in quality and be approved.
