The tag alias #73844 arms_around_partner -> arms_around_another is pending approval.
Reason: Around partner is unnecessary specific and subjective.
Around another is more inclusive.

Should both of these perhaps be aliased to hugging_another?

Depends on if you think hugs during sex are normal hugs or if an arm around another person's shoulder is a hug in the first place i guess. Also if straight up grabbing someone is a hug in all contexts.

There's also positions like full_nelson which could be tagged as arms_around_another but not as hugging_another.

I think we did decide that hugs during sex do count as hugs yeah, embrace (the tag previously used for sex hugs) was aliased to hug. We do currently have hugging_during_sex that's kind of in limbo, imo it's not necessary since hugging sex returnes very accurate results. topic #44824
One arm around the shoulder I would say probably shouldn't count, but this tag is arms, plural, which sounds pretty huggy to me
That reminds me I wanted to make a BUR to set up the arm_around_another tree for single arms
Yeah, looking at the posts under these tags, both of them look pretty much the same as hugging. I think I'd rather alias to that.
