Do we need tags for the type of question being asked? Isn't it also a bit vague as to whether a given question has only yes or no answers? I think this should be an alias instead.

Not really. If it lacks the words who/what/where/when/why/how/which, then it's a yes-no question.

EDIT: Wait a second. There's actually a separate tag for each of the wh-words (asking_where, asking_when, etc.)? Well, I'm asking why these even exist...

We have a certain overzealous tagger (who is now banned from tagging due to things like this) to thank for many of the overspecific tags we have, including these
