Oh, this problem isn't the internet explorer, but you still should stop using internet explorer.

[Firefox] > [Help] > [About] said that (it was updating, so it must be on 24.something right now, besides, I don't use it very often so I wasn't aware of that either)

IE is buggy, full of loopholes and recommended by Microsoft. Three good reasons to get Chrome right there.

Or any other standards compliant alternative in general

Same problem here, both on Firefox and Chrome. Definitely not IE specific.

Standards compliant? You mean that Netscape Navigator is a worse choice than IE9?

I know it's about 10 years old now and is completely awful but it still beats the crap out of IE9. And that's a lot of crap to beat.

Netscape is as inoperable as America Online right now brozowski.
IE isn't really all that bad for really old comps that keep crashing with chrome and firefox.

IE10 actually isn't that bad. Not great, but not bad. Wouldn't recommend it for today's tab-happy internet user, though- it opens separate processes for tab groups, which is just retarded. Otherwise, though, it's pretty usable.
