Because if not, it's a perfect example of why the "you can't buy organs" law thanks a whole fucking lot, Al Gore is crap. Even Iran's theocratic despots allow the buying and selling of organs, and the result is that, unlike my supposedly free-market country, Iran doesn't have a bunch of people dying on waiting lists for a kidney.

I recall tgweaver successfully raising $6000 from his fans last year to pay for urgent dental work, among other things. It's definitely possible to raise that kind of money.

How am I being a dick? I'm just observing that not everyone gets to have a successful fundraiser where their medical costs are paid by strangers. Luckypan has some popularity. People care about her, especially in this community. That's why we give money to her, and not to the millions of other people around the world in much more dire need.

I'm not saying it's wrong or right, but that's just the way things are. If you're not popular, or if people don't care about you, you get nothing.
