Topic: unalias catgirl - female

And probably shouldn't be tagged catgirl either, as the tag clearly goes for females only. on an unrelated note, I'm still wondering why do we have gender specific tags like this one...

The wiki article actually says:

This is tag is to be removed if found. It has been replaced by the tags "cat_ears" and "female".

I don't know who made the decision, but it doesn't look enforced. I agree with it though.

Yep. Catgirl, foxgirl, wolfgirl, rabbitgirl, etc...
I think those should all be aliased to the *_ears tags.

100% Agreed.

Seems to also be catboy, rabbitboy etc. tags which should all definitely be aliased along with the *girl tags.

Isn't bunnygirl something like characters wearing the iconic playboy bunny outfit? I know the girls are called bunnies, but does the suit get its own sorta tagging, because I know I've seen a lot of similar type suits on the site.

Is that a good thing though? Those images need species tags as well. As far as I know, those kinds of tags have been used instead of species tags.

those should be sorted first and then aliased.

....hmm don't suppose it would be feasible to add micro numerals to tags that have implications attached to echother?

Like ok so well use this threads two tags as an example.

Say the tag list looks like this.
Esme_belles
Persian
Feline²
Equinine
Catgirl¹²
Topless
female¹
Male
Pony

Probably not workable or to much work, just figured id ask.

I've always been confused on this one, do we actually tag cat, rabbit or whatever on a human character? It's a hybrid I guess, but it seems to depend on who actually tags it right now.

From what I've understood from the previous discussions, those should be tagged as animal_ears (plus cat_ears etc), human, and usually also as not_furry.

Really? That seems off to me. If they're just wearing animal ears, sure, but if they're another species? I mean, viera are basically just dark-skinned women with rabbit ears, but they're a separate species. I'd lean towards usage of hybrid, myself.

For the most part, I think it's a carryover from Danbooru, where the animal_ears tag is used as an umbrella species tag for all kemonomimi. Which are specifically not tagged as furry over there.

The reason why we have so many of those *girl tags in the first place is because many users seem to directly upload images and tags from Danbooru to here.

And since animal_ears seems to be used in the exact same way here, perhaps we should consider changing it from general to species tag..

anima ears should continue to be used on characters that are mostly not furry, that I completely agree with- but if they aren't fake ears like an ear band, then they should be tagged as hybrid between human and the other species whose ears they have, at least.

Makes sense I guess, but what about if the ears are part of their hair? That seems to be relatively common. Still fake ears, or would they be counted as real?

I'd assume real unless we can see a pair of normal ears sticking out from the side of the head. After all, in the actual creature that it's a hybrid of fur grows along the scalp and over the ears normally in most cases (the rare bald species, those that are unfurred or only lightly furred on the ears, etc being exceptions).
