Why was the huge_balls tag aliased to big_balls? If I understand correctly, the tag was used to describe balls that were huge but not hyper.
It also doesn't even say it was approved
Is this a bug?

That's because it was made by an admin:
https://e621.net/tag_alias?query=huge_balls&aliased_to=&user=&approved=true&order=tag
And since it doesn't have a date listed, it must be at least couple of years old.
I don't think we need huge_balls as a separate tag. It's easier to tell from breasts and penes, but the difference between hyper, huge and large balls seems very ambiguous. Though personally, I would've rather aliased it to hyper_balls instead of big_balls. ...since huge seems closer to hyper than big.

Hmm... that seems like a bit of a fluke within itself, I mean if it was created by an admin would'nt they approve it while it was being created? it seems like common sense

But why does it seem like this was recent? I've seen that tag on images like a week or month ago and I know that I tagged it on stuff not that long ago.

That's true but what if a user wanted to look for balls that were bigger than big but smaller than the averaged-sized chair?
Here's how I see it:
big_balls
post #435258
huge_balls
post #413928
hyper_balls
post #426798
The huge_balls tag was basically the perfect middle-man between big_balls and hyper_balls. I know that it's a little tougher distinguishing which goes to which but isn't it better to give users a wider selection when they search?

Agreed. There's clearly a difference between the examples Husky gave us, and same goes for boobs.
Seconded

All the sizes need to imply the metatag, but not sure about the sizes themsevlves. When we originally debated this three? years ago, we had relatively standardized sizes that were scalar to the character's size- so a macro sized character or a micro sized character with breasts proportionate to their size would be tagged like normal-sized characters, with it ranging from barely budding to noticable curve (but still just a curving of the chest) for small, fist-sized to just under head-sized for 'normal' (normal according to today's average breast sizes), about head-sized for large, about twice head sized for huge, and everything above that was hyper sized. I'd grab the link to the thread itself, but... eh. Tired.

Alright so we have two good options here I think
We have one umbrella tag for larger than average body parts (not sure what tag to use but it could be like hyper_bodypart or some variation of that), and tag each size under that
We tag each size individually of anything else, which sounds best but then has no tag to blacklist every size that is over the norm
I heartily await your feedback!

...Why not individually, and also oversized_bodypart for blacklist purposes?

That's what I mean, tag each size individually, and then one umbrella tag

well you were saying two options, as if it had to be a choice between the two, and I was suggesting we use them both.

So are we going to unalias huge_balls -> big_balls?
