Topic: Implication: mushroom_cloud -> explosion

There's not always an explosion. It could be used to signify someone being pissed, with no visible michael bay-splosion.

It's opposite day. I support the logical implication while everybody else opposes it.

Disagree; mushroom clouds don't always come from explosions. Mostly, yes, but not always.

Not to mention that the cloud will stick around for a while after the explosion has past.

Well, okay, I don't know why this is being discussed, but I'll bite.

I agree with this. Mushroom clouds are synonymous with controlled explosions. Therefore, obviously, every mushroom cloud is caused by some sort of explosion.

Wrong. Mushroom clouds only appear when an explosion is occurring. After that, they're just normal clouds.

It could be argued that the burst of pressurized smoke that was required to make that mushroom cloud is in fact a form of explosion.

What gives you the right to call it a mushroom cloud? It could really be shaped after broccoli! Or cauliflower! Or an upside-down spinning top!
