So in order are a few of my pics starting with one of the first few uploads I made. (gmod) the first sfm one I made and a couple up till now... So... Am I getting better? Anyone who uses sfm got an tips that can help me?

I know ill be getting like 10 or so responces from people saying my stuff is shit but im remaining hopefull that someone has somthing that is worth noting.

As you can probably tell I like doing dickgirls/futa/herm/ whatever tag tickles your fancy.

Let me know what you guys think I can improve apon with sfm or photoshop or whatever else you think would make images like the ones I do better.

Be specific telling me my stuff is shit and I should burn and die or whatever else come to your mind is not helpful and will be ignored :I

Typical bad 3d graphics.
Not your fault necessarily, but it's got that polygon-y look that all bad 3d has.

Yeah you've definitely improved since your first posts. I have very limited experience using SFM myself, but have tried my hand at animating these MLP models just to see what it was like. It's definitely not something that you just jump into and pick up along the way. :P I had to watch quite a few tutorial videos first, which definitely helped. I'm assuming you've already looked up SFM tutorial videos.

If there's one piece of advice I'd give you, it's to continue working on making character movements look natural, which I understand isn't terribly easy and often introduces a lot of complexity and potential problems. post #446768 actually isn't too bad, still a little stiff, but you obviously put a decent amount of effort into animating the little details to make her expressions and gestures more natural. I'd say post #447312 could have used some more attention to detail like that. For instance, when her legs relax at the end, they move down quite rigidly and don't bounce or move around at all when they stop. There's no "weight" to them.

In post #447307, you added little ear-twitches, which is good! But Rarity's hair in particular is moving unnaturally. If you'd like a visual aid, you can use pretty much any piece of string or cord that you find that's sufficiently long enough. If you hold one end between your fingers and let the rest hang down, then just simply move the string around, you'll notice that the bottom end of the string has a slight delay before it starts moving in the same direction as the top of the string. You'll notice a similar delay when you stop moving the string; the bottom takes a moment before it stops moving, and may actually swing out quite a bit further than the top of the string. It seems like a simple concept, but it's a very common error in beginner animations from what I've seen. Just imagine that string is Rarity's hair, and move the top end according to how her head moves in the animation. You'll see that her hair doesn't really match up with your string example.

Again, I'm no animator myself, I've just dabbled with MLP in SFM a few times to see what I could do out of curiosity. But I know how difficult it can be to make it look "right", and that's not even taking into account that you may eventually want to develop your own "style" of animating. Definitely a good idea to get the basics nailed first though before trying to bend the rules.

Hopefully this helps. I might give SFM another shot soon since I'm not as busy now as I used to be. I seem to recall it kind of driving me a little crazy at certain points though, which is one reason why I stopped the first time. :P Just got to keep practicing..

helpful stuff

Thanks and ill keep hair and legs in mind. rarity's hair is the only hair that I can physically move like that I think but ill look and see if the other ponies hair can be altered to do that since I had to fiddle to release her hair first time around. also source has change a bit for better or worse would be your outlook. As for pony models the last update was a bit ago but if you were using the ponies with low bone count then ill be glad to say its easier now.. kinda idk the ponies have never really been "easy" but it does get simpler once your realize wich dot is wich first time around its so annoying.
