Aliasing lol -> funny.

Reason: i think it makes sense to combine these

Comedy and humor should be thrown in too (if they aren't already.)

I dunno. I"m not sure how I feel about this. On a logical level, yes, this does make sence.. but at the same time...

My brain interprets 'lol' as being a bit different then funny.. even though. it really isn't... its the same sort of 'difference' as, say, aqua and teal. ... so it really ought to be united under one term that means "this is supposed to be amusing"... but then there's the sticky slope of 'would *I* call this funny? no. Humor is a better word for that.

But, then, there's also the problem that lolalso contains some pictures that contain the word 'lol. Like post #108189 I'm sure there are others too, but I don't have the time to go digging through all of the lol tag right now.

So, I think this is probably a good idea, if not exactly in this fashion...

The hard part is there's no quantitative measure of humor we can use to separate "lol" from "funny."

Regardless of how differently people feel about colors, aqua and teal can always be distinguished empirically.

Aqua:
- hex #00FFFF
- R,G,B (0, 255, 255)

Teal:
- hex #008080
- R,G,B (0, 128, 128)

The term lol itself doesn't have an explicit definition when used to describe humor. So your own personal definition (and the connotations you attach to it) might be drastically different from that of another individual.

Yup, that's what I was kinda trying to get it. aqua and teal are both different things.. but what you call aqua, I might call it Teal, and to Joe Fur over there, they're both blue, bottom line.

So... like I said.. I don't know what the right answer is, but it's not correct as it is.

the 'easy' answer would probably just alias lol, funny, comedy and everything to 'humor' and be done with it.
