Reason: ears is something 95% of the images here contain, so it doesn't really contribute to searches that much

Some of them are probably supposed to be animal_ears or pointy_ears but yeah kill this tag.

We could keep animal ears for when a character has ears outside of his species. This could work as long as people don't tag animal ears on every picture of an animal that has ears.

Do people really tagged "ears"? I think "tag what you see" was followed to the letter

Yeah you don't get it. There are a lot more images with ears in them than males or females. Male and female are important distinctions, ears aren't.

Ears was at like 2000 posts. Male and female, over 100k. If someone started tagging every post with ears it would have been noticed earlier and nuked. Maybe if every post that had ears had been tagged with it, it could have been useful to somebody, but only 1% of them were, and a lot of those were probably typos (space instead of underscore).
