Topic: Artist Noise

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

I was dealing with the problem with there being two japanese artists called noise the other day. One also goes by Babel, the other goes by just noise, but their websites both call themselves noise. These two are not the same artist. I created two artist wiki pages, but the origonal, noise is still there, and I am unable to delete it.
I labeled the two artists noise(artist) and noise noise(017) after their pixiv login name. Really not a great way to resolve the issue, but I'm unsure what a cleaner way to do it would be.

Not to mention noise by itself is a horrible tag to have listed as an artist. It can be easily mistaken as what an average user would assume, not an artist.

Updated

Danbooru-likes tend to use the following tag layout for artists that are on Pixiv:

name_(pixiv1337)

1337 being the user ID on Pixiv and 'name' being the artist's name.

Well that still leaves behind the mess of being duplicate wiki entries on my part.

Noise wiki entries removed, you may re-add a correct one or not, as you see fit. :)

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but can someone edit the "shindohru" entry so the title reads "sindoll"? I figure it's an easier name to go with, and is also the name s/he goes by on ustream and twitter.

It might be a better way to Romanize the name. I just go buy what the Katakana are. If thats what they romanize it at, we should use that instead. I have been working fairly hard at cleaning up much of the issues with Pixiv Login names being used as artists name, many of which are incorrect. I don't actually know japanese past Hiragana and Katakana, using dictionary tools to try to get an accurate name.

Update, I've created sindoll's wiki page with his sites I know of, but kousoku2 massive 359 images need to be renamed to Sindoll still. I have been doing them very slowly, but I do have a day job. An Admin should be able to do a massive tag replacment.

Wouldn't a tag alias do the job instead?

Sadly no, that doesn't seem to work with Artist's aliases, and frankly, Kousoku2 and kousouku shoudl be deleted because they are not the Artist's name.
