Topic: Tag alias: Candles -> candle

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

There seem to be posts tagged with candle and candles

Should they be

  • aliased?

candles -> candle

  • implicated?

candles -> candle

  • left alone and be used separately for the plural or singular vernacular?

Candles

(The latter 2 are somewhat the same choice)

Edit:
Requesting an alias of

candles -> candle

Reason: Single tense tagging preference

You're just full of threads, aren't you?

I support leaving it be, to reflect one candle with the singular and multiple with the plural. That only makes sense if you speak English.

:3

If they're being left separate,both tags should be cleaned to place the singular in candle,and the multiple in candles.And maybe even a wiki entry

I'll start on both once someone says for sure what's being done with them

Eh, I thing we should alias the plural to a singular; if we don't use plurals for all physical objects, I don't see why this would be an exception.

I say alias candles to candle because in order for there to be multiple candles, there must be at least one candle.

Just create a tag alias request. Since candles don't usually come in pairs, use the singular candle (unlike, say, nipples). Also, candle has more posts than candles (currently 320 vs 144, respectively).

I support aliasing candles to candle; we don't need multiple tags to differentiate the number of candles in an image, and when we do aliases like this we usually use the singular (like horns aliased to horn.
