If not an official, then the mlp tag should be invalidated and keep the character tag.

The (mlp) tag is more in an official stance instead of a user generated/created characters.

Let me rephrase.

The (mlp) tag is more in a stance of official characters.
The (character) tag is more in a stance to where the characters are created by users that are not official.

Milky Way is an official character, should not be aliased with (character).

Reason: I noticed just now that this character's tag was recently changed to include the owner's name. But as I recall, the original creator of Milky Way was Flash Equestria (who ran the milkmare-of-trottingham ask blog), NOT Kloudmutt.
Everything having been on Tumblr really does not help jog my memory at all but I found info on a few sites where Flash confirms ownership of her.
