This is my very first forum post, and I thought something like this would be a decent way to toss my two cents in... I don't really plan on uploading anything because I never created anything other than stories, I suck as an artist, and don't want to steal someone else's work, post it somewhere, and take credit for it when I don't even know who originally drew it or anything (yes yes, white knight, morals, le gasp, blah blah.) but it seems like people enjoy getting their panties up in a knot over nothing. ._. It's a PRIMARILY furry site, which means you will find things that are not furry and you will in fact have to deal with it unless you use this thing known as common sense, and not look at it, or blacklist it for that matter. I've been around this sight for about three years, but during most of that time I was just a guest floater who liked to use the site for characters after my friend showed it to me, and even then I knew it wasn't an all furry site, I also knew how to avoid things without the use of a blacklist. :I I think people just need to start being beaten over the head for excessive stupidity now-a-days.
Also: Do the necromancy dance. :3

That doesn't happen on this site.

Are you sure about that? People are getting rather sneaky with their thieverying now-a-days.

No matter hwo sneaky they get, theft is almost always caught, and the second it is we will deal with it, likely with permabans for the offender.

Impressive. :O Then again with how many people are here, and how many connections those people have, and their connections, it would be pretty impossible NOT to catch thievery.

Okay, I understand, that humanized MLP porn can be not approved for any reason. I understand that one admin can delete post approved by other admin.
But deleting one approved post #256996, because is not relevant to the site, and at the same time approving post #256856, and both deletion and approval done by the same admin in the same day?
Shouldn't there be at least some consistency?

Updated by anonymous

Consistent rules on mlp stuff? That is silly anomaly :P

Well, not true really. We lifted that rule late last year: http://e621.net/forum/show/27562

My English sucks sometimes. I've meant "can be deleted for any reason", not "cannot be approved for any reason".

My Two Cents

I'm a furry. In my personal opinion, I like to think of this place as an accepting furry art community. Though it does have furry porn. Am I complaing? No ^_^

On the topic, I've noticed a few images of RL humans nude cosplaying as an approved furryish human anime character. Some of the above posts say "No RL people porn allowed". Should I flag it for deletion, inform a Admin, or keep my mouth shut? Honestly though.

We're aware of it, and in the discussion of what should be done about it, we'll get back to you with an official decision on that later.

As far as i have read, i have the understanding that non-furry stuff IS allowed, and the uploader has a 50-50 chance for his post(s) to be deleted by the superiors depending if they like what he/she uploads.

You know, this starts to make sense because i have seen an awful lotta off-topicness floating around like cheerios in a bowl of milk.

But i am in doubt, can an average member contribute on flagging irrelevant posts for the authorities to later analyze and determine if it deserves to be deleted?

No, all existing posts will be seen by an admin within a couple hours with or without FFD.

Additionally to that, it is clearly stated in the FFD-Guidelines that flagging things for subjective reason can result in disciplinary actions against you.

While it is nice that you want to help them but FFD'ing these posts would only mean more work for them.

I am here to ask about post #298537 which was deleted with the explanation "irrelevant to site".

As it is a MLP image depicting humanized versions of the characters, it may not be an anthropomorphic picture. But there are literally dozens of images like it here that are not deleted. Why this one in particular then?

For those who wish to see the image here is a link

Images with similar content are approved and there is an entire tag called humanized specifically for this content.

These are just a few examples of similar images. While the rule is that any image that is not of a "furry" nature can be taken down, I would like to know why there are the few images that seem to get targeted for deletion for "irrelevancy" when that clearly does not apply as other "irrelevant" images thrive here.

Depends on what admin gets to it first.

Is that really it? Just some admins delete anything non-furry and others judge them based on content? I mean seriously the image deleted is exactly the same as hundreds of other pictures on the site. Why aren't they all purged by the mod then? It's like controlled anarchy...the rule applies sometimes, but then sometimes it doesn't and only to what it is chosen to be applied to, not everything in the same category.

This is a furry oriented image archive database, anything not furry-related is at the whim of the admin who gets to it first, if something is deemed worthy to be kept or not is then often determined on either the overall quality or if it is humorous or not.

Yes, that's exactly what they're complaining about.
He/she gets that - they were asking why we don't have something more...uniform for this.

Because then we'd either have to allow all non-furry content or forbid all non-furry content.

Both of those options are unacceptable to the staff.

From the rules page on posting:
"Off-topic images and any potential fallout from posting them are subject to the whims of the moderators. In other words, don't post non-furry art if you aren't okay with it being deleted."

Null already said it, both other options are stupid and won't help the site as a whole.
If you can propose a better solution to the problem then I'm sure they would like to hear of it.
We will have to live with that until then.

...I was going to ask why post #303381 was deleted as "Irrelevant to site" as my understanding was this site isn't 'furry only', however after reading this thread the answer appears to be "because that admin didn't happen to like the pic". :|

Just because an image is irrelevant to the site doesn't automatically mean it should be deleted; it means that its chances of being deleted are much higher, but can still redeem itself in some other way.

Damn right.

I montion that, in order to put an end to this endless dilemma, human pictures should be allowed as long as they're relevant to a furry character (humanizations) or series which most characters are furry (eg. Sonic The Hedgehog). It's only fair.

TLDR below

I understand that this place is all about furry art, but humans are being noted more and more around and creates confussion upon those who read the rules and think:
"If everyone's doing it, why shouldn't I?"
And later their human related post get deleted because of being irrelevant.

We haven't had a dilemma on this since 2010.

Also is it a TL;DR if your TL;DR is longer then your original post?
