MemberThat's a good question and likely. It is nice to think how they are sort of passing on the torch like each of them has done before. also, Soooo backgrounded on my other moniter to replace halo forklift from before Reach came out. Only to complement the picture of IRL pokeball on the other =]

MemberI remember my first game and first starter... Squirtle, on Blue. I picked him (I found out that he was a he when I got Gold (I started with Chicorita, that one was also male) and traded him to it, as a Blastoise) even before I knew about the gyms being the way they are. I had heard after the fact of picking a starter that most people (those that had played before) picked Bulbasaur to cream Brock and Misty. I remember naming him Shelton (looking back on that now, makes me smile for some reason; good thing he was a he), and he kicked Brock's ass so well, that I felt that I had gotten the best starter. I even got a Squirtle plushie, and named it Shelton. But sadly... when I moved, a few things (namely the plushie, and my teal gameboy pocket) didn't quite make it to the new house. Luckily, Blue and Gold did; thank goodness for the black gameboy color (and the Duke Nukem game that I also got in tandem with it) I got for Christmas the following months. I can no longer play Blue or Gold, as time is a bitch to my electronics. For the longest time, I was stuck with Ruby on my original GBA (I picked Treecko this time, he too was a male). I didn't think about the fun I had with Blue as Hoenn at the time was new and cool and for the lack of better words, "a game you just had to play to play". It was around... 2004 that I heard about FireRed and LeafGreen. I had to have it. I mean, come on; the old games gotten back in the day barely worked, weren't compatable to train old pokemon to newer games; it was a dream come true. I played LeafGreen (I got a copy for Christmas in '04) and you know which starter I picked, what its gender is, and what I named it? ♥

Blockedmy starter was squirtle even though i had red. best choice i ever made
Wankin
MemberCharmander was a nightmare until after the first two Gyms, but Charizard more than made up for it later in the game.
I still went with Squirtle though. Turtles own.

Quite Interesting. Poor You, for the loss of yer Plushie Shelton...
Mmm... My Guess is... You Named a MALE SQUIRTLE as SHELTON? :D
Hehe, Once I Named a Chikorita after my Younger Brother "Theo" XD
I Also Named a Jigglypuff after "Susan Boyle" as "Susie".
Now, Getting off the Poke-Subject, I Named my Nintendo Wii as "Wii-lliam" X)

MemberThat's right, Shelton was what I named it. I still have him; he's on my Pearl now.
Just a small continuation: after a while, I traded my LeafGreen for some other pokemon game (don't recall which one ATM), which in turn I traded back for another copy of LeafGreen. I started with Bulbasaur on that one, and played as a female this time. I based her and her Ivysaur named Ivy (original female Ivysaur name, I know...) off of a fanfic I can't remember the name of. IIRC, the trainer loved her so much (as she had gotten her as an Ivysaur from her late brother) that when it came time for Ivy to evolve again, she remembered that Pokemon's personalities change with evolution, and so had Ivy hold an Everstone so that she wouldn't become something she might not love.
I've always found it odd about Chikoritas... the name sounds decidedly female and yet there are both males and females.
Names have always been tricky for me. I've often named rodents on almost every version, "Rizo" from the Muppet Show. The other names are something to do with the Pokemon's color, abilities, and so forth.
Why might I ask, did you name your Wii? (granted that "Wii-liam" is a funny/cool name)
LoboBobo
MemberWell... I was Installing it in my Living Room TV...
Then I Followed the Instructions that Appeared in the Screen...
Then, Something like this Appeared: "Enter a Nickname for Your Device"
I Talked with my Brothers and We Chose This.
First, I thought in "Wii-lson", But they Preferred "Wii-lliam"...
Ecco
MemberWell, my first was Chikorita.
