Description
Category: Ninja Pokemon
Type: Water/Dark
Height: 4'11"
Weight: 88.2 lbs
Ability: Battle Bond
Ash-Greninja has powered up thanks to the strength of its bonds with Ash. This is the form Greninja takes when it has gained new power due to the miraculous occurrence known as the bond phenomenon. This can be brought on by the bonds between people and Pokémon. It seems that it has only known to have occurred once—several hundred years ago.
Ash-Greninja's leg strength has been enhanced compared to an ordinary Greninja, making it difficult to see because of the speed at which it can move. It takes its enemies out in a flash! It becomes able to make giant Water Shurikens on its back, and it can throw them in rapid succession.
Greninja that can become Ash-Greninja have an Ability that no Pokémon has ever had before—Battle Bond. The Battle Bond Ability triggers this Pokémon’s form change to Ash-Greninja after it causes an opponent’s Pokémon to faint. When the battle ends, the Pokémon returns to its original Greninja form. This form is only for battles where it needs to break the limits!

MemberOh, the anime shit is bleeding into the main games now. Great. It was dumb in Yellow, it will be dumb here.
user 199204
MemberLuckily its only available through the demo and not part of the main game (unless you trade it from the demo).

MemberHopefully this stays as a Promotional gimmick, because if Bond Evolution becomes real canon, it should be based on your trainer, not a trainer that has had nothing to do with training the pokemon who Bond Evolves.
Daneasaur
MemberIt most likely won't be something they do.
Besides, Ashgreninja got it's shit kicked in by a megacharizard X. I've never seen such a pathetic water type.
user 199204
MemberHopefully that will make that fucker stay away from the gen 7 anime. (havent watched the anime in a long time tho and i dont bother watching that travesty)
Furrin Gok
MemberLike I said: Either keep it as a promotional gimmick, or make them bond to your trainer. I agree that it's unlikely that they'll make enough customized appearances to all of your starters for that to be viable, but unless they do, keep this stuff away from the canon of the games.

BlockedIt also beat a Mega Abomasnow, OHKO'd an Altaria, and beat a Mega Sceptile.
Daneasaur
MemberI'm with you on that. I HATE the anime.
Pokemon Origin was good because it followed the GAMES and didn't do the retarded "pokemon say their names" bullshit and so on. Yeah there were a couple of small asspulls, but nothing like OHKOing a scissor with poison jab.
Rad Dudesman
BlockedRed's Jolteon getting OHKO'd by a Thunderbolt from a Rhyhorn was worse than anything the main anime ever pulled.
Origins was just a Charizard wankfest. None of Red's other Pokemon did anything of worth.
And Pokemon saying their names isn't an anime thing, they do that in the games too.

MemberI can disprove you with the same number of other pokemon text "words" that have NOTHING to do with their names.
Therefore we default to the pokemon sounds which, surprise, other than wanking for pikachu, NONE of the pokemon say their names, they sound like animals, especially as the series has progressed.
Jolteon? Could have sworn it was his snorlax. Regardless, if you haven't had a computer pokemon wreck you with a critical hit "not very effective" that did a shitload of damage that it wasn't supposed to, you haven't played the games enough.
And while there IS "bullshit charizard wanking", that's mostly just for the final two fights, yet it follows the canon that was introduced in X and Y of pokemon being able to WITHSTAND being KO'd JUST due to being bonded with their trainer.
TheOtherKy
MemberIt's optional, so I don't mind too much. I like the concept, but it doesn't make sense to bond with a Pokemon that's implied to be someone else's.
I stopped watching the anime years ago, so I have to ask. Why did Greninja get a new form based on bonds anyway, instead of, say, Pikachu? You know, the one Pokemon that's been with Ash for about 20 years?
Furrin Gok
MemberBecause unlike Pikachu, who Ash forced a bond with after claiming him as his own pokemon, Froakie chose to join Ash, because he saw that Ash could fight while he, himself, wished to be the world's best fighter. "Battle bond" requires a desire to battle on both sides.
