I don't really care what people want to be or what they do, as long as it doesn't hurt other people and as long as they don't repeatedly shove it in my face after I tell them I'm not interested in it being a point of discussion. If your "thing" can't do those two things you can fuck right off.

It's part of the reason I think fans of MLP take so much shit - because a lot of us shove it in people's faces when they made it clear they aren't interested. After a point people collectively stop giving you the opportunity to talk about MLP and go directly to the "No, fuck off" phase because so many others have pushed too hard.

That said, the wolf furry guy or whoever can do whatever they do. I'm not judging. I sit on e621 looking at horse cocks.

It's a matter of personality, for the most part. I'm on Imgur regularly and MLP, for example, is reviled on that site despite the insane popularity of Zootopia and any sort of "nostalgia" cartoons. Difference is fans of Sonic, TMNT or Zootopia haven't been trying to jam their fandom down the throats of everyone else.

Given that on the DA page for this the artist says they identify as a Red Plastic Solo Cup, I don't think they take it too seriously either.

But really, I'm with Brayburned. I may think it's silly (and I do), but it's no skin off my back if someone self-identifies as a wolf, a pastel pony, or even an A-10 or attack helicopter as long as they don't insist that I have to take them seriously.

This. I get asked about it often. (I've got a pony belt I wear all the time and a few shirts) I'll answer that question and that's as far as the conversation goes unless they ask further.
