Only problem I could see was the presence of the Persian tag. Just like with mega forms, we don't tag the base form on alolan pokemon.

Can I ask why that is? If I was searching for a Pokemon, I'd definitely want to see all forms of it in my search, mega, alolan, or otherwise. We don't discriminate based on shiny versions, so why these?

We keep them separate because people may wish to run a search such as alolan_persian persian and only get images featuring both. The most popular pokemon for such a search would be alolan_vulpix vulpix where the Fire and Ice duo is extremely popular.
