While the difference may not be noticeable in terms of quality (with pictures that are not high-res) it IS the original file instead of the smaller thumbnail version that I uploaded. At least now I know and can avoid that mistake in the future.

Same proportions, slightly larger file size, entirely unnoticeable difference in image quality. I find it real hard to justify removing the former for what is an impossible-to-see "improvement".
