There are more females, but they are classed as Pretorians if I remember correctly. In other words the "Young" Queens, which takes over for the old queen if she is killed or taken away.

one last thing i forgot the pretorian egg is larger then others and has a black color rather then the skinish or greenish type depending if it is an advanced speicies or not over tim the queen with evolve once more and become a roal queen she isnt much deferent from what she was but has a distince luminesent glow on her chestplate and on her head or crown as it were wich gives her eggs this greenish color and glow. pretorian eggs also harber three pretorian face hugers wich like the other pretorian species are larger in size and also oopt the black color of thier egg.

Fucking a, you are all retarded, the only males are from face hugger up to the ridged warriors, after that they morph into pretorians and get either hunted down by the rest of the hive or survive to a point where they are a full pretorian, which are female, and much stronger than warriors and dome heads. When they reach that stage they return to protect the queen and in her death evolve to queen. If a pretorian is separated from a hive long enough, they are able to lay an egg in a host directly (avp 2). This ensures faster hive growth.

actually its more technical then that the queen doesnt do that the face hugger is there own species but they somehow can impregnate the victim with the xenomorph's child
