    Evolution doesn't necesarilly correlate with age in the pokemon universe (unless baby pokemon like pichu or togepi are invloved). In an episode of the anime series (episode 281) they showed an entire pokemon family that was just treecko with a noticeably old looking treecko.

    GameFreak are the ones who made it so that offspring take the abilities of the father and the species of the mother. The only exceptions being the nidos and illumise which have sexual dimorphism and Manaphy which make Phione.

    Exactly. THis comic was not made by Game Freak, therefore, it does not have to follow that logic.
