Yeah that pink thing is the arm of the chair. It's confusing at first but if you look closely you can see that the arm was shown from another panel.

Well the last page showed that he's definitely sleeping, and we can see everything but his pelvis at some point so I'm guessing he's sitting in the chair with a boner or some sort of erotic book.

How is he even sleeping? When you drink that much coffee, you don't even need a car anymore to get around.

I love how the paneling is executed. The tryptic gives the bird motion while still maintining the stillness of the chair. Very nice use of composition.
