Partially the reason I made the fireplace "screen" all high-tech with a HUD. Can change temp, heat pass-through, fire colour, etc. Her universe is a futuristic one, so why not? I imagined fireplaces like these would be more for aesthetics and old-timey fashioned stuff at that point anyhow!
