Bora Bora Fox

Brought to you by my supporters on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/zaush

Please consider lending your support so I can devote more of my time to furry art. Patrons get to see my art two weeks earlier than anyone else, have access to work in progress updates, art streams, HD versions of art, and can help vote on ideas for my next work. Take a peek!

A fox seems a little out of place at this very canine corner in Bora Bora, but he's making himself useful. Has something caught their eye? I wonder what it could be.

Waiting for an even larger version no xD

Sadly, it looks like that's not going to happening anymore. Zaush decided to go with the Patreon model of funding for his artwork now. What that means as a viewer is that you will no longer be able to view HD versions of his art without paying on a monthly basis, and you are no longer legally permitted to distribute the HD versions either. While I'm glad he's able to fund a full-time career in art this way, it's alarming that the present business model of choice stands in contrast to the need to archive art in high resolution and lossless format.

Were a different path chosen instead, such as strictly a deferred release that gates public access to material behind 3-12 months of early access, non-Patrons would still be able to eventually get their mitts on high-quality images, and people who crave immediate access could keep him afloat by donating. As it stands, there is no guarantee that HD versions will ever become part of the public domain--there is a real possibility that they will be lost to time completely without plans to provide means to access and share that media after a set period of time.

So yeah. It's a tricky situation. There's arguments for keeping the new model in place to guarantee a steady stream of revenue and creative independence, but there's also furry artists who have proven that using a strict deferred release model through Patreon provides enough income annually to live comfortably, especially when combined with pricy commissions/YCHs.

so don't get me wrong I dislike getting pay walled as much as the next guy but I also sympathize with the artist more than the consumer for circumstances like these. It's fair if you just don't want to pay for porn when you can find it for free, by all means spend your hard earned cash however you please. But I think it's unfair to expect an artist, or any creator for that matter, to just give their content away for free. Or more over to expect them to just indefinitely give their content away for free and for them to never change their mind when they see that they can make some sort of earning from how others have successfully done this and still find a balance to put out free content as well.

This is the internet. There's no such thing as a pay wall.

The only thing Zaush is even restricting is the ABSURDLY HIGH RES VERSIONS of pics you've already seen posted to the public. Which is a better way and moreso the 'right way' to do Patreon rewards.

You all are acting as if he's gonna start restricting his art entirely, which he said himself on FA he will NOT be doing. Calm the fuck down. :/

and we non patreons are supposed to know this how again? Can't fucking see all of the shit on the site unless you pay for it, and besides, he's not the only one I'm talking about. I mentioned all artists moving to patreon. Plenty of stuff is teased to us non patreons but only if we're lucky, but none of that shit matters to me. I'm not fucking buying it, so good riddance. The only artists that matter anyway are fuzzamorous and dieselbrain; great art, flash animations that don't look like shit, and it's free. Everything an occasionally horny single guy like me could ever want.

  • Also, i don't expect free art from these artists. Any smart person knows not to do something for free if they're good at it. Still doesn't mean i gotta like it. So I'll just keep on liking the artists that make their art free, and not liking the ones who don't, just like all of them have the right to make their art pay-to-see.

You know what this sounds like?
    Movie trailers.
This capitalistic strategy is a movie trailer (just with still images).
You get parts of it but to see the whole thing, to know the whole story, you have to pay to see the movie in the theaters (Patreon) or you go to by the movie when it comes out (Art packs).
Only difference is most artists don't make you pay 12 bucks to see the image once.

Well artists need to eat too, no?

You can publically release the HD versions later and still make decent money. This is what a lot of artists do, and it probably wouldn't even put a dent in Adam Wan's income since he's a very popular artist. Just release it for free after a year or something so e621 can archive it.

Wish I could go somewhere something like this is just as casual like it is here.

I'm sure it's a hidden kind of place in some cities, but I'm also sure it attracts some of the worst people to be around for too long. Would be hecking hot tho. I'll take my epic yiff in the meantime

I know a spot in Pittsburg, PA. You have to walk through an abandoned lot next to a closed tax office, into an unlit lobby with naught but an elevator, and take it to the fourth floor. Buttons 2 and 3 don't work. It was $17 for 8 hours last I was there. Not too many people there at the time, though, maybe seven in total.

These places exist, but I don't know how to find them. I stumbled upon this one while searching google streetview for a sauna after a failed night of bar-crawling.

It was an absolutely surreal experience, but nude moonbathing on a metropolitan rooftop, with company, was a unique, maybe lifechanging experience. I also explored the dungeon, but there was nobody down there. There was a maze, glory hole, and swings. Everyone was in the spa, moonbathing, or in the lounge. And a stripper fell off a stepping machine in the gym.
