Wow hitting download makes this look so much more huger and better.

Yes, all content from diives that aren't using post process effects look much better with zoomed flash version.

Because of this it would be nice to have both flash and gif versions of artwork from this artist whenever possible.

It doesn't work for me since it just downloads the file itself

Chrome started doing this and wouldn't surprise me if others followed suite. And I'm more than fine with this.

Personally using flash projector which makes it much easier to watch local content. It also keeps project resolution by default, so there's no horrible flash scaling with non-vector content and other good stuff.

That has never happened to me on Chrome, it must be something in the settings.

Download the Flash Player projector, select the executable as default program to open .swf content, put nice thumbnail from registry for the files, ???, profit.

If you install Adobe Animate CC this is done automatically for you, not sure if someone has made neat installer. Then there's of course something like MPC-HC which can also play files.

Soo, fine with people Needing to download and learn more programs? Ok then...

No, I'm fine with unsecure software not being automatically executed on something like browser. Another aspect is forementioned scaling which on non-vector using flash files is awful and with vector using ones it sometimes takes insane amount of more resources to point where content slows down.

And it is. It's tied to flash autoexecution setting which earlier only disabled small content (which would most likely be resource hogging ads or annoying autoplaying content).
Settings -> Advanced -> Content -> Flash (which has been translated into "lightning" in my language for some reason) and Allow execution where default is Ask permission.

Well, I personally find it convenient to have a fullscreen button instead of always having to download files from this site.

That's one of the main reason why I would like artists to prefer video formats instead, because those will always have native fullscreen button on them.
Meanwhile flash, even if you did open it in new tab doesn't go full fullscreen (and browsers fullscreen hotkey bugs out if the focus is on executable) and with bitmap content it will look horrible.

Up on their patreon right now, publicly available maybe in some future.

Yeah, well with different artists who most likely use different programs/have different experience means that unless all the programs have some kind of unified update, or the site forces a single program (potentially breaking older animations), I don't see that happening.

  • The artist purposefully scales down the flash animations, doing the same with artwork too. Pretty much to make people pay up the wall and get the non artificially scaled down versions. I've never seen anything publicly available from the guy that is more than 700px and flash animations seem to take an even bigger hit on scaled down dimensions.

It's all a business move. I simply think the guy didn't think of right-click + Zoom In and how there are standalone flash player people can easily have access to.

Let just hope that artist won't stop releasing scaled-down-watermarked-public-release as swf because people figured out that you can simply zoom in on them

There's also those works that are at such a ridiculously high resolution that the only way for them to fit on your screen on this site was to use the 'download' feature.
