a dog's timescale isn't 1 year=7 years their entire life, the older they get the smaller the difference in perceived time is, by the time they're 5 it's something like 1 year= 3 years iirc, easy to assume keidran's aging/timescale slows as they get older too

The visible differences between two adults with several years between them is much smaller than two young children with the same age difference.
