April 10th: The bill has been vetoed!
April 2nd: The politicians in Arizona are about to sign into law a bill that would mandate sites like e621 to either impose age verification on all users or be at a risk of lawsuits. Such system would be required to go through third party vendors, who in turn must go through a government database to verify every user's age. This is not only a major violation of privacy, but it also opens up a very real danger of identity theft through phishing schemes and other methods, not to mention that we would not be able to control any of that information to make sure it is permanently deleted after age verification is complete.
Unfortunately, Arizona is the state out of which e621 operates, which means that this law will almost certainly affect us if it is to pass. If want to help us ensure that this site can continue to serve you without being required to know who you are, please ask the Arizona governor to veto this bill.
Please, help us get the word out by letting others know about this issue.
For some further information on what the bill does have a look at https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2586/
We still have a Discord server, come talk to us!

MemberYou do realize you're telling me I'm bad to my face, right? I never designed this to be popular, I designed this to be something I thought looked cool.

MemberYes, and yes. It doesn't need to be popular, I just think you need a new prespective on how edgy color palettes have been done to death. It's not like I'm ripping into without my own bias' you know.
Valkoinen
MemberEdgy color palettes are edgy because they work, no matter how much they're used. And no one has the right to tell anyone else how they should or shouldn't make their 'sonas, as long as they're happy with it, that's all that matters.
BiasedThoughts
MemberMeh don't let the assholes bother you. Its a waste of time. Pretentious people are just that.
buggo
MemberLike I'm not pretentious enough to judge them either way. And to bring up a serious point, sure they "work" but they "work" too well and look "cool" so the repressed 14-year-olds can smother it like a baby in the night. It got old fast. "If it works, don't fix it" is an analogy I hear a lot, doesn't that work well with a massive group of people, doesn't it? Furries always try to outdo each other so much that is literally the new norm to be unique. You can see that practically everywhere, and damn is it not to see a character I valued for being different now shoveled out to the masses. Being a pretentious dick is a privilege, not a right, so I don't rip on things because I don't like them, I rip on them because there's something wrong with it. And if it really was just my bias', the comment string would have been more playful and humorous, jabbing fun of the author instead of actually giving critique. A hugbox mentality that everyone can be accepted lowers quality standards established, and I'd rather not see MSPaint dicks on this site... oh wait.
