• It's called servants of the serpent.

• The antagonist is a snake.

Given those three points, how was anyone surprised by her capacity for mind control? It's fair to say that if you've seen a snake on E621, you've likely seen hypnosis/vore as well as that's 90 per cent of what snakes do.

I'm not saying the plot is good or anything silly like that -- clearly, the little kobold here is holding the Idiot Ball, for sure -- but to say that there was no indication that she had this kind of power?

Never played WoW, but i have played plenty of tabletop rpgs. and as somebody who is far more comfortable with a tank than a mage, i'm well aware of the threat of charm effects. A general rule of thumb is that if you don't know what your opponent can do, don't give them the chance to do it. Gidget shouldn't have let her grab the circlet in the first place, there could have been a weapon in or near it. And there was.

Yeah; mind control might be a cop out, but i don't see it too often and variety is a good thing. wait to see what happens from this and maybe accept that not every villain monologues and that some use cheap tactics because they work.

Hypnosis is fine, but it just seems like it was used as an easy way to continue the story, we had quite a few pages of buildup just for the main character's work to be twarted in a single picture.

I don't think it'll get any lower on the list than 4th of all time, though. The 3rd lowest has a score of around -477. Even with this god awful page, that's simply too much ground to make up. So I think having it in the bottom five is a good spot for it.

As of right now, it's the fourth most disliked image on e621, at -227 (incidentally, one of my favorite numbers). The next lowest ranked image is at -474, so it's probably going to remain at #4. I don't see it doubling its score any time soon.
