    I wonder why we don't have an indie studio that produces Furry related films (beside Disney/Pixar and Dreamworks)

    Definition of a Furry:

    The furry fandom is a subculture interested in fictional anthropomorphic animal characters with human personalities and characteristics. Examples of anthropomorphic attributes include exhibiting human intelligence and facial expressions, the ability to speak, walk on two legs, and wear clothes.

    According to that, every animal character that fulfills one or more criteria can be relevant for the fandom.

    I didn't want say that those films are made for or because of Furries, but they are relevant for the fandom since they contain anthropomorphic characters.

    Longer explaination

    In fact my point originally was that there aren't films that aim for the fandom. The examples listed above are for kids and were produced for nearly everybody.

    "Animal Farm" or "Watership Down" are curently the only western cartoon films with anthropomorphic characters for adults that come to my mind, but still not aimed at furries directly.

    For that case, "Kung Fu Panda" or "Zootopia" come closer to bipedal anthros, but aimed primary for kids.
    (Topics like racism and terrorism sure are present in Zootopia tho, but adult themes in their movies are quite common for Disney)

    And when we step aside from those films and look at animated hentais, there isn't much furry related content either compared to human porn. There are studios that produce exclusively porn for all kind of fetishes, but there's not a single one for furries.

    I am pretty sure the movie has a lot of depth and fascinating imagery. I am pretty certain it looked amazing, had a great sense/s of humor, and all around had a great character development. The movie was hardly a mistake in anything unless you merely wish anthropomorphized characters to be drawn less like some kind of weird "purist".
