While that version was also posted recently, this original picture was also posted like a year or two ago when I initially finished it. Seems like a lot of art is getting re-uploaded lately, maybe just higher quality uploads?

Man, that's a stupid trend. Why can't people just leave the original? We don't actually need a hundred extra pixels added onto the six thousand we have.

To put it simply, it looks nicer, and the idea that you might be getting less than the best really irritates some people. People in on this site really don't like to settle for mediocrity, or even something marginally below-average.

The uploader of this one actually explained it to me. In a recent forum post, a user revealed the 'raw' URL extension for tumblr images that allowed them to be saved in the highest resolution. Prior to that discovery it was either unknown or uncommon knowledge how to do this. And Counter-the-Courier is spot on with his response too. To add to what he said, the e6 staff and community is a hugely prideful one that's been long concerned with providing the highest quality and best organized repository of furrythings. This is just another step to keep that bar raised high.

1 1/2 years later and still one of my favorite images.

Proof that a picture doesn't need to have extreme amounts of detail in order to be awesome.
