According tot he tags, this is not salazzle?

Nope. Salazzle have no frills, spines, or any such extra parts, which is fitting for a species that courts via powerful pheromones.

This lizard here is an OC.

Frills, or a ribbon? She does come across as a Salazzle.

While she's some sort of lizard with pheromones, and the breasts can be excused as anthro, her face/mouth have no resemblance to a salazzle, she has no markings of a salazzle, and salazzle are "bald", lacking any head ornaments.

You can say that, but it doesn't look different to me.

  • I want to say that she looks more like a grovyle using sweet scent that just happens to be super effective on male pokemon.

Then lets take a good look at salazzle, shall we?

Hmm, distinctive underbite, unique markings along the chest, two tassels along her tail, bald head...

Pheronoa looks more like a feraligatr than a salazzle.

Best way to figure it out is to ask the artist.

Um... well... Pheronoa is not pokemon. She is my OC. She is a boss character of my game that I'm making now.

Thank you for the clarification. I was aware of this but some others here were not so willing to listen.

No offense to you, artist, commissioner or OC owner, but what they say rarely matter when it comes to twys. I'm surprised you brought that up.

That said it's usually a fun and enriching experience to have them as patrons here.

As you should know as a contributer: The artist can define their character's name, and as long as the look fits, their species. "Not this specific thing" means we don't tag that specific thing. Not pokemon? Okay, not pokemon! (Except for the partner, he's pokemon)
As such, we only tag it with scalie. It doesn't look "Absolutely" anything else.

It's also nice to know lore in general. Even if it isn't something we can tag, there's no harm in knowing it.

Oh, I'm well aware that we have tags that don't fit into twys, pretty much the entirety of artist and character tags fall into that category, even some general tags. Just take incest being an infamous(?) example), as well as to some extent the "gender" tags. Though I guess there's some leeway when it comes to species, but if someone draws a Pikachu and says that it isn't a Pikachu it will still probably be tagged as a Pikachu, the opposite usually also applies.

I don't really care what artists do here (nothing negative implied), just their presence is often rewarding enough for me.

Yeah, I don't see a salazzle either. The head shape is completely different. ...at the first glance, I actually mistook her as a grovyle.

Or look at the many pictures and GIFs of both Pherona and Salazzle together, drawn by the same artist.
    It's clearly a different character.
