the "Hm, why?" part sort of makes sense as an immediate reaction to "Back to male again, I see.", but with these 2 messages in-between, one of which is already a response to that statement, it loses that "you surprised me with your statement" aspect.
my guess is, it's a leftover from an older version of that conversation, where it was said immediately after Keith's statement. or, originally he had another line before that.

yeah kinda weird, I went back for a moment thinking i missed what keith said, but it turns out nat just waited until after expositing an entire paragraph before responding to him.

When you overthink it, it does seem wierd. But, we're human and we understand context.

He commented about her bounding his/her breasts again. She (he?) asked why. I don't get how this is confusing.
