And can she even control how spoopy she is? She has to know that noise is gonna make petting her at least a little unpleasant for anyone even slightly able to be creeped out.

Maybe she's lost some of her humanity, becoming more instinctual than most, so the ghost things just happen reflexively, or she just doesn't notice them.
