Hmm... I actually happen to like that buzzcut look.

i think its just supposed to show the hairline, or whatever its called, like if it was a model, if it isnt an actual model. and might have the purpose of showing where the hairbreadths actually come from, instead of varying their source and length in every angle and pose like 2d anime hair. i dont think she lost her tail in the first picture either
