If you want to ease yourself into it, I would recommend starting with Metal Slug 7. If you'd rather do it from the top, then Metal Slug 1 should be your first port of call.

I suggested X (which is a remake of 2 that ups the difficulty) and 3 because their bosses' difficulty is more on par with Cuphead's. X is preferable to 3, simply because X's final stage isn't half the damn game.

Aye, Cuphead! I've not played it, but I've seen others play it. I am currently working on Mega Man 2. Nice work on this btw!
