News: Feb 26, 2025 Show

Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.

Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.
Further information on the bill itself can be found at the Free Speech Coalition: https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2112/

What's with the locked tags on this one? Lia's a shemale.

Right. Tags should be "dickgirl" and not "male".
But maybe people are following the tag-what-you-see rule...
But that still doesn't make Lia a male.

  • I'm gonna go out on a limb here, and say that is not a typically male physique. Therefore, it should probably be tagged 'dickgirl'.

  • from e621:tag what you see (explained):

Unlike many other art sites, e621.net has a tagging policy called "Tag What You See" (aka: "TWYS"). With very few exceptions, TWYS says that all tags on a post must be directly verifiable within the post itself. Example: a solo picture of what APPEARS to be a male character will be tagged "male". Even if the character was defined as "female" on other sites by the artist or character owner themselves, the picture would still need to be tagged "male" on e621, because of the TWYS policy.

that’s uh… an EXTREMELY derogatory term

A shemale? Since when the hell was that an offensive term?! They’re the ones that started calling themselves that in the first place! Would you rather me say “dickgirl” or “cockwoman”? What the fuck else are we supposed to use to specify a female-male transgender? This is E6, tags are tags and comments are comments. A “extremely derogatory term”… so is it like the n-word now? Is it the way that everyone called someone something(including themselves) and now it’s racist/sexist for anyone except themselves and alike to say? Last sentence is a genuine question.

It's always been pretty offensive. I have literally, never heard a single trans woman refer to themselves as a shemale. In fact, I'm pretty sure most of my trans friends would react to that comment exactly how clever did, if not worse. So the answer to your last question is no, because it was never something that the majority of trans women called themselves.
