Given the current definitions of bestiality, animal, and person, it's only bestiality if it's between a human and any other living organism that feeds on organic matter that isn't also human. So sex between any non-human and another creature wouldn't be classified as bestiality, just inter-species. The funny thing is that it WOULD be bestiality for a human to have sex with an elf, gnome, dwarf (as in the actual race), orcs, halflings, werewolf, or any type of demihuman that isn't actually human.

The whole matter is based in the lack of human-like consent, so it counts as animal abuse. If you had sex with any species capable of comunication on the same level as a human, it wouldn't be bestiality anymore. But some people will always complain when something is different.

it's not what we generally think of bestiality as, but by definition it is. So even though it would likely be dismissed, you could technically be taken to court for it until laws were changed to account or whatever other sapient races there are. As for human like consent...... that's not actually the issue. you can't exactly for a dog or horse to mount you and if the animal was really as adverse a person usually would be, then they would likely bite/claw/kick you. When it comes to the legality of it, it's actually just that most people find the idea gross and some possible religious roots as well. Laws on sex are weird and a good number of people can't seem to be able to stand that other people have different sexual desires than them. Look at homosexuality for example, it's only recently that it's even legal for same sex marriages. Hell, anal sex is illegal in some places. some places it's illegal only if you're gay.

long story short is that sex laws are based largely on religious ideals and personal outrage of people that have nothing better to do than to piss on other people's parade.

What I meaned by "human/like consent" is that as far as we know, few species have sex for the mere pleasure of it. So, it's like having sex with a child who doesn't know what's going on. In my opinion, it's a bit hypocrite to say that you can't have sex with animals but you can slaughter and eat them. To me, you can do anything while you respect the same right of the others, humans or not.

I mean, in this universe, it's still taboo, according to the comic's description.
