Description

War had been raging between the hordes of Holag and Draq'Nara for over three years. Both sides had sustained severe casualties and countless sums had been spent to sustain the war, with no end in sight. The Queen of Draq'Nara, Vaxi Neferet I, was at her wits end. Seemingly no matter how many of the brutish legions of corrupted soldiers that her armies cut down, blew to pieces, or incinerated with magic, there was always a fresh, new cohort of untold numbers waiting behind the previous. They seemed infinite, and day after day, year after year, it became wholly clear to the powerful ruler, that her armies of highly trained soldiers, were not, in neither stamina, nor numbers, nor courage.
With this in her mind she sent one of her trainee scouts, the young Kafele Skleros, to the vast, reclusive, and largely unknown kingdom in the west across the ocean. Little was known about its culture, structure, or even it's ruling body. The only information the Queen had ever managed to get from them was that their nation was called 'Eternal House', which was roughly translated from their unusual, exotic dialect. The Queen assigned a ship to transport Kafele, and after several weeks at sea, and a days ride from the shores, the young aspirant reached the gates of Eternal House, and requested an audience with the ruler of their lands.
They were suspicious, and dismissive, but even while the messenger was not allowed entrance, a steward for the ruler, one known as the 'Alpha' came to the gates and received the message, leaving Skleros with no other option but to wait for a response. After 5 nights of waiting patiently in front of the gates, a response was given to him silently by the same steward. Quick as his mounts hooves would carry him(and as fast as his designated frigate would sail), Kafele brought the response before the Queen. Rewarded for his speed and efficiency, Kafeles rank was raised from aspirant, to Royal Claw, effectively graduating him from the teachings of Nyarai. The response to the Queen read:

"Your most esteemed Highness, Queen Vaxi of Draq'Nara,

It is with a heavy and sorrowful heart that I send my most heartfelt sympathies upon hearing of these atrocious crimes against your revered nation. These 'Holags' as you call them, sound absolutely vile, devoid of any honor or any true virtues. However, it is my understanding that these forces attack none but yourself, and as such, I fail to see how this struggle of yours would ever affect my people and I, seeing as how great the distance between our lands is.
That is not a refusal, merely the beginnings of a proposition. I would meet with you, here, in my own lands, to discuss terms of a possible treaty, or pact, in which our joining forces could benefit us both in the long run. I request your presence in my palace a fort night from this day(Your missive can no doubt tell you what day of the moon this was given to him). Upon arrival, we will discuss these terms in private, and hopefully find a mutually beneficial solution to this vile act of violence upon your great city state.

Yours eternally, and with utmost reverence,
Prince Spiral, Alpha Majoris of Eternal House"
