April 10th: The bill has been vetoed!
April 2nd: The politicians in Arizona are about to sign into law a bill that would mandate sites like e621 to either impose age verification on all users or be at a risk of lawsuits. Such system would be required to go through third party vendors, who in turn must go through a government database to verify every user's age. This is not only a major violation of privacy, but it also opens up a very real danger of identity theft through phishing schemes and other methods, not to mention that we would not be able to control any of that information to make sure it is permanently deleted after age verification is complete.
Unfortunately, Arizona is the state out of which e621 operates, which means that this law will almost certainly affect us if it is to pass. If want to help us ensure that this site can continue to serve you without being required to know who you are, please ask the Arizona governor to veto this bill.

Memberyou know. honestly I never understood why furries have animalistic vestigial appearances. like, barbed cat penises are there to scrub cum from females against other males, knots on canines are there for both female vaginal access and to ensure a pregnancy (the best they can). yet being civilized like humans, would they need a vestigial trait like that? I just had a major fucking identity crisis from this comic... I need some alcohol.

MemberI don't see why the traits would disappear at all. A feral species would at some point turn sentient, and whatever dickshape they'd have at that point would be of minor or major influence on their culture.
A species with barbed dicks would probably have a very rape-ey, barbaric culture, with no concept of "soft gentle love" whatsoever. A species with knotted dicks would probably romanticize the idea of lovers being tied together. Guys with small knots would probably be made fun of for not being able to 'hold on to' a mate properly. Whatever the shape, it would be idolized as a key part of what made the culture the way it was - Whatever function it loses in the practical sense, it would gain in a symbolic, cultural sense.
Human culture would've been really weird if we had barbed dicks, if you think about it :P
