I think he went insane on the part that they all had all these weapons, and updates. Where all he got is just a small big, he then got jealous and went insane leaving the team..........................

Actually this comic is an epilogue to a story where the administrator kills the entire blue team, turns off the blue respawners then tortures the red team for decades, the soldier becomes feral, the demoman goes into a deep drunken depression, the heavy and medic become very gay for each other, the spy has been turned into a shapeless mass of pain and the scout's tongue has been ripped out. The engineer and the sniper are both the relatively least insane of the group.
I won't spoil the details but the engineer escapes alone. And that's the prelude to this image.

I like to imagine that it wasn't really covered up, but everyone involved either died or was on-base, so it became forgotten.
The alternative that none of it happened because unreliable narrator effect is pretty depressing, too.

Oh, cool, I found a superior version. The existing upload has metadata suggesting it was converted (and is lower-detailed). The version I found in the BreakingFun source has Adobe CS4 tag:
