Some women age better than others and manage to hold onto their charm. Most don't in one or the other (and sometimes both). I once had a woman old (and wrinkly) enough to be my grandmother hit on me. She had neither going for her, and didn't seem to realize this. She was about as subtle as a fireworks display about it, too.

fun fact, based off the little pieces I've gathered from this mares past, she is not older, she simply had a grey mane and tail to begin with. Even in the comic telling how Cadance and Shining met, her mane is still grey, even though she'd a high-schooler
