Not really. I mean, the Western Basitins didn't appear in the sketches until they first made an appearance in the comic. Ditto for almost everything related to the canon in the sketches.

They're just popular because they're new, most of the interesting scenarios with the main cast have already been exploited.

So I take you don't actually read the comic? Because this literally couldn't be more the exact opposite of reality. Unless you consider "male Western Basitins don't wear tops" a particularly important bit of lore. The body painting we saw literally on the last page. And within the last dozen pages alone we learned about the current state of the Templar Order, the magic gateways, a bunch of draconic lore including family lines, reproduction capabilities with humans, and that there's only one dragon who has any real authority over the others. There's some world building in his sketches, but it's almost nothing compared to what's actually shown in the comic itself.

The main cast outside of keith+nat are cardboard cutouts character-wise they were literally written by an angsty teenage tom who didn't know anything but shounen anime/manga tropes and they still suffer for it, you can't write them out of that without completely changing who they are as characters all of the new characters have infinitely more depth because when he grew out of that phase he learned the tiniest bit about character development and was able to write somewhat interesting characters Look at any of the characters introduced from the basitin arc onward and you'll see what I mean.

It's hard to say you are false, but I found that Tom tend to make a good job to fix his early character. It's just there are a lot of work on it ! But yeah, from the Basitin Arc, Tom grew and got a lot of maturity, I think that Twokinds really begin to become a good webcomics from this part !
And I must confess that I'm more intrested in the Keith-Natani realtionship than in the Trace-Flora, without saying bad thing on this two. I like both of this ship... But damn !
Am I the only one who sees Natani having only one full arm while the other one seems to have not a full arm really? Maybe im just seeing things so let me know xD
