  • Respiration seems to be very heavy as to indicate a spasm or perhaps a seizure. It could also be that such breathing causing such movement is due to a collapsed lung on behalf of the cat looking one and would also explain the increased breathing speed. Nor cat or human has a respiration speed that fast at normal awake time or at rest unless an excessive amount of physical strain is put on the muscular system to rapidly replace oxygen to prevent acidic levels from rising, causing cramps.

    I recommend she see a doctor immediately.
