I've got a bad feeling about this.

I thought the rules on fraternization would be stricter in the imperial navy. No wonder the rebels keep outsmarting them or they keep loosing the Millennium Falcon from their sensors when the dude manning the sensorstation is constantly being "distracted" by the girl from gunnery control.

I liked Kevin J. Anderson's contributions to the Expanded Universe, and the Jedi Academy Trilogy in particular, but that's not canon. Though after the special editions, and especially the prequel trilogy, canon Star Wars is utterly, completely, and forever ruined for me.

Also: Spice must flow. Seriously, that would have made Jedi Search the best book in the expanded universe for all time. If only the meme (and the internet) had gotten started sooner...

Excuse me? So much happens in the universe that it's impossible for any one movie to tally everything. So by your logic, the courtship of Princess Leia isn't cannon, because the book is only contributing to the "expanded universe".

Just like how IG-88 was present during the battle of the Death Star. This is why we never see him again EVER, because he sent his entire "personality". All the data that made him, him, into the Death Star computers, hoping to assume control and wipe out all sentient beings in favor of a droid controlled galaxy.
Then Luke blew it up, and IG-88 is lost to us forever.

It's cannon because it happened. But it was such a small thing in the scale of what was going on, that it didn't matter. And it didn't matter because the good guys won, thus ending that particular story at that moment in time.

Everything is cannon unless it DIRECTLY conflicts with the movie timeline.

So if I wrote a book that takes place 20 years after they destroy the second Death Star, and in it, Luke is gay and living on Tatooine with his gay lover Roberto...then that's canon?

"Follow the timeline". We were referring to the expanded universe that was taking place DURING Episodes 4, 5, and 6. You're talking about after, which isn't even the point. But if you want to make a dumb argument, allow me to follow up with this;

The timeline has already been set, there have been books that expand far beyond 100 years after the events of episode 6. Luke has already proven not to be gay, married, had a kid who turned to the darkside for a while, etc. etc.

If you suddenly write a story about him being gay, then that's a fanfic (and a shitty one).

I was just making a witty comment concerning the logic of your statement. Didn't know we were arguing. Yes I know that there is plenty of lucas arts approved literature and that luke is obviously not gay. I know that the he went to jedi temple on courescant (SP?) and reinstated the jedi order. One whose teachings not all agree in etc.

This is a great pic, and the look on Artica's face is hilarious. The only reason that I'm here is because I found a really good pic of Artica and two other wolves, and now I can't find it.
