small edit: wtf was the interaction when the first human tried to eat a cherubi and it started screaming like "BRO DON'T EAT ME I'M ALIVE!"

I would have felt like I had suddenly taken some bad shrooms or something. "wtf everything is alive! i guess i'll never eat again!"

As far as I'm aware, people don't eat Pokemon, they eat sythetic food, for the most part, alongside things like dairy products made by Miltank, which have functional udders. Pokemon takes place in a post-scarcity society.

In the games, there are severed Slowpoke Tails which are described as "Very Tasty".

Yeah, but those are generally black market items, sold by Team Rocket, if I'm remembering correctly. You actually stop Team Rocket harvesting Slowpoke tails in the Slowpoke well outside Azalea Town. For the most part, normal, no non-criminal, law-abiding people with a solid conscience eat Pokemon.
