Kind of makes me wonder about the family status now. Is the mother deceased from an illness? Did she and the father have a bad falling out so much so she didn't want to deal with the kids because that would mean dealing with the father eventually? Or is this a case where the kids spend a week with the mother and a week with the father?

Plus, what the hell kind of job does this dad have where he can take care of two teenagers, himself, enable a (possible) drinking habit, pay for hooker, and also pay the mortgage for that nice ass house for a single income household.
